Kaiser Releases New Data On Medicare Drug Plans

Updatedinformation and new report, Kaiser Family Foundation: The Kaiser Family Foundation hasupdated its interactive online resource, the Medicare Health and PrescriptionDrug Plan Tracker, with new 2008 data that provide local, regional and nationalinformation about Medicare Advantage plans, including HMOs, regional and localPPOs, private fee-for-service plans and special needs plans. It also includescurrent information on stand-alone prescription drug plans offered, along withupdated 2007 enrollment data for MA and stand-alone prescription drug plans.

Inaddition, the Kaiser Family Foundation released a new report, "Do We KnowIf Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans Are Special?," which examinesspecial needs plans and describes the history of these plans, how they fit intothe larger MA marketplace and how to assess whether they are performingdifferently from other MA plans (Kaiser Family Foundation release, 1/23).
