Kaiser Family Foundation releases resources about Medicare prescription drug benefit.

  • Medicare Part D Resources, Kaiser Family Foundation: The Kaiser Family Foundation recently released two spotlightsthat examine benefit design and cost sharing for Medicare drug plans,as well as the use of specialty tiers for high-cost drugs in 2008.Other resources include an updated "Talking About Medicare" consumer guide designed to help people understand Medicare coverage and the latest "Voices of Beneficiaries: Attitudes Toward Medicare Part D Open Enrollment for 2008" report (Kaiser Family Foundation release, 12/10).
  • "The State of Regional Health Information Organizations: Current Activities and Financing," Health Affairs: The study -- by Julia Adler-Milstein, a doctoral candidate in health policy at Harvard University,and colleagues -- is based on a 2007 survey of 145 regional healthinformation organizations and provides a comprehensive assessment ofthe status of electronic health data exchange in the U.S. The Webexclusive also includes a discussion about prospects for nationwideadoption of RHIOs (Adler-Milstein et al., Health Affairs, 12/11).
