Reported Cases of Flu-Like Illness Increases in Davidson County

Health care providers in Davidson County reported 110 cases of flu-like illness to the Metro Public Health Department during the past week, compared to 65 the previous week.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), influenza or flu-like symptoms include:

  • Fever greater than 100 degrees F
  • Muscle aches
  • Headache
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Dry cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose

The best protection against influenza is to get a flu shot every year.
