According to health experts experienced with yoga, yoga actually lowers your stress level by preventing the release of the stress hormone cortisol that is known for promoting fat accumulation around the waist.

Furthermore, according to research published in the journal Qualitative Health Research, yoga helped women in one study discover a healthy reconnection to food, which cultivated a present-moment awareness making them mindful of their eating habits, and thereby caused positive changes in their eating habits that led to their shared weight loss.

And for breast cancer patients, yoga has also been found to help reduce persistent fatigue experienced during and following cancer treatment.
