Do you ever find it difficult―if not impossible―to stick to your workout routine when you are home for the holidays? Are you stressed out from just the thought of having to spend the holidays with your in-laws? Would you like to lose weight rather than gain weight while traveling this Christmas? The solution to all of these questions posed is that now may be the right time to give yoga a try.

In the health section of ABC News, Qinetic yoga coach Heidi Kristoffer demonstrates an exceptionally easy yoga routine to try this holiday season that she says is so super easy that you can do it by yourself in just a small space and without any special equipment.

Yoga is a great way to work up quite a sweat and let go of your stress; and better yet, it also has the benefit of keeping those holiday pounds at bay. But how does yoga help with weight management? According to health experts experienced with yoga, yoga actually lowers your stress level by preventing the release of the stress hormone cortisol that is known for promoting fat accumulation around the waist.

Furthermore, according to research published in the journal Qualitative Health Research, yoga helped women in one study discover a healthy reconnection to food, which cultivated a present-moment awareness making them mindful of their eating habits, and thereby caused positive changes in their eating habits that led to their shared weight loss.

And for breast cancer patients, yoga has also been found to help reduce persistent fatigue experienced during and following cancer treatment.
