Is it really possible to lose 14 pounds in 14 days? And be healthy?! According to the latest news reports on weight loss, a popular Grammy Award winner did just that and is revealing how he did it.


According to an ABC News Good Morning America interview with Grammy Award winning British pop star Sam Smith, Mr. Smith tells viewers that changing his relationship with food led to his losing 14 pounds in 14 days. So how did he accomplish such a feat that takes most dieters months to accomplish? By following the sage advice of the weight loss book “Eat. Nourish. Glow. 10 easy steps for losing weight, looking younger and feeling healthier” by nutritionist Amelia Freer.

According to ABC News, Ms. Freer does not advocate diets as many of us know them; but rather, uses a unique approach about how that her weight loss methods are about empowering people who want help in losing weight. Her approach is based on adopting a cleaner way of eating that becomes a natural habit of life, not a short-term commitment―no diet fads―using her own weight loss experience and extensive nutrition training to guide others toward a plan that works for them.

On her website, Ms. Freer states:

“I started off slowly: I’m not a “cold turkey” kind of person. I introduced one change at a time and gradually, over ten years, I’m now living a gluten, dairy and refined sugar free life. I also eat very few grains and probably resonate most closely with the paleo concept although I don’t like to follow anything with a 'name'― I’ve just figured out what works best for me.”

Basically, Ms. Freer’s weight loss methods are based on 10 principles by which people with weight loss goals should gradually adopt one healthy habit at a time as eventual life-long habits that include steps such as cutting out processed foods and sugar, and filling your fridge with fresh produce and lean meats.

“So for me the key is about it being real, getting back in the kitchen, cooking from scratch, making sure they are not relying on junk processed convenience food,” Ms. Freer states for ABC News.

As a successful weight loss convert to Ms. Freer’s eating advice, Mr. Smith now posts photos of his healthy meals and shares the steps he took to lose the weight in a short time. ‘

“It's not even about weight loss it's about feeling happy in yourself,” he posted in a recent Instagram.

And if you are wondering whether 14 pounds in 14 days is too extreme, ABC News medical contributor Dr. Jennifer Ashton states, “Fourteen pounds in two weeks is not alarming unless a person losing that weight has any pre-existing medical problems. When you talk about eating properly, people who do have weight to lose will see dramatic results.”
