A recent news piece from ABC News (Australia) demonstrates that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is not only great for getting fit and losing weight, but “…is free and totally portable,” says ABC health journalist Cassie White who reminds readers that to get the most from your workout that you have to do perform each exercise with proper technique.

Here are some HIIT pointers recommended by Ms. White on how to get the most out of your HIIT circuit training:
• Make sure that your heart rate is at or above 90 per cent of its maximum beats per minute. The easiest way to work out your maximum heart rate is to subtract your age from 220.
• Do each exercise in the order shown above in the videos for 30 to 45 seconds without resting in-between.
• At the end, rest for a maximum of 30 seconds, and then aim to repeat three to four more times the entire circuit.
