Gladys and Joanne: Have you spoken with your doctors? You can ask to see a nutritionist (dietitian) who is licensed. That is a good start. Also, you could consider joining an online weight loss group like Spark People. They have had success helping people. The reports of that have been very positive. If you have not had a complete physical exam to include testing for thyroid function, please also do that. If you have no health issues preventing you from starting even just a simple walking program that will also help. You can advance from there. It doesn't matter where you start. Weight loss simply comes from taking in less calories that you are expending each day. Never sit for long periods of time. If for any reason you cannot exercise, diet alone has been shown to help, but almost but not everyone, depending on any existing health conditions can find ways to do some sort of physical activity even if it means chair exercises, water based or other.
