Dr. Oz Scours Pinterest to Create Ultimate Girl's Guide for Beauty and More
Pinterest is a social media site that lets you organize and share the things in life that you are passionate about, find interesting and want to share with the world. Best of all, Pinterest is a great way to learn first-hand from users of products and people who have found solutions to problems that apply to your daily life. As such, Dr. Oz has recently announced that he has scoured through Pinterest and created his Ultimate Girl’s Guide for beauty, health and more to share with his viewers.
So, what’s in this Ultimate Girl’s Guide? Listed below are just a few examples of beauty, health and fashion tips that Dr. Oz and his guest experts found pin-worthy on Pinterest:
Overnight Skin Savers
One highly recommended overnight skin saver is "Amorepacific Moisture Bound Vitalizing Masque" that is used by celebrities as a beauty product for great skin. It comes in two forms: one is a cream that is spread over the face. The other is a moisturizer containing mask that you wear for just 30 minutes to allow time for the skin to become hydrated and the nutrients to transfer to your skin.
A second product for saving your skin is the “5 in 1 Restore” cream that is both affordable and effective. One of the benefits of this cream is that it works on all types of skin.
Another celebrity favorite is a blemish remover called “Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.” According to special guest Roshini Raj, MD this blemish remover works by drying out the upper layer of skin cells overnight as a type of defoliant that is then washed off in the morning taking the blemish with it.
PMS Stress Busters
One of the top PMS stress busters pinned of interest is “Agnus Casus”--also known as “vitex agnus castus” or “chaste tree berry.” It is a plant that grows naturally in the Mediterranean region of which the berries and leaves are harvested to use as herbal remedies for various health problems including PMS. Its PMS relieving abilities are believed to be due to its hormonal regulating properties that normalizes and balances luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) to cause progesterone levels to be higher than estrogen levels. Agnus Casus may also be effective in treating perimenopausal rage that shares the signs and symptoms of PMS at its worst.
Another PMS buster recommended is “Fiber Gummies. “ According to Dr. Raj, fiber gummies work in two ways. The first way is that the fiber helps stabilize blood sugar levels during a woman’s period—which then can affect mood swings. The second way is that PMS often leads to bowel irregularity ranging from constipation to diarrhea. The fiber in the gummies serves double duty by helping to regulate bowel movement.
A last PMS remedy is the “Thermacare Menstrual Heat Wrap.” Simply peel off the adhesive and apply the activated wrap to the area where cramping is at its worst. The benefit aside from the soothing heat is that the wrap is thin enough that it can be worn under clothing throughout the day while being active.
