Dr. Oz’s Most Bizarre Beauty Secret Revealed
At-home beauty secrets are one of the many offerings Dr. Oz serves viewers of The Dr. Oz Show. While some in the past have focused on foods found in the kitchen that can make your skin more beautiful for less money, Dr. Oz reveals one beauty secret given to him by Dr. Oz fan and special guest Stephanie, who has her own pet advice for Dr. Oz.
“I used to spend a lot of money on expensive face masks,” says Stephanie. “But then I learned about a little known affordable home remedy perfect for all you cat lovers out there―I make myself a kitty litter facial, and my skin has never looked better!”
“This seems crazy, but you have the best looking skin,” says Dr. Oz as he allows Stephanie to demonstrate how she makes her kitty litter facial and apply it to his face.
“It’ll give you firm, smooth glowing skin,” says Stephanie as she applies her kitty litter concoction to Dr. Oz’s cheek.
The kitty litter facial consists of 2 parts water to every 1 part of fresh, unused kitty litter that is mixed thoroughly and warmed in a microwave oven. When cool enough to touch, apply the kitty litter mixture to the face as a mask and leave on for 10 minutes, followed by washing off with warm water.
Dr. Oz tells viewers that using kitty litter as a face mask is not as crazy as it sounds―that it actually makes sense because some kitty litters and face mask creams contain the same ingredients.
“Bentonite clay is the foundation for so many face masks and other ingredients because it soaks up the oil of the face,” says Dr. Oz. “My friends, guess what? Kitty litter―primary ingredient: bentonite clay, it’s the same stuff.”
Dr. Oz advises viewers, however, that if you do try this home remedy beauty secret that you should choose only brands of kitty litter that are 100% bentonite and do not have added scents that could cause an allergic reaction.
