Learn CPR - You May Save a Life
In their daily work lives, paramedics recognize the value and importance of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in saving lives. On Saturday, February 17, at Bethany Community Church in St. Catharines, they hope to share some of that value with as many Niagara residents as possible.
In celebration of Heart Month, Niagara Emergency Medical Services, the Niagara Paramedic Association, Heart Niagara, and Bethany Community Church are offering a CPR education day, where families can receive CPR instruction by local paramedics. For a $45 registration fee, families will receive hands-on instruction, and be given a kit that includes a practice mannequin and instructional DVD to take home.
"Entire families will be able to learn and practice this important skill," said Mary Ellen Logan, Special Projects Manager for Niagara Emergency Medical Services. "We know that it's incredibly important for individuals to know CPR. You never know when you may be called upon to perform it and save a life."
CPR day will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday February 17, 2007 at Bethany Community Church in St. Catharines. To register please call Kendra at 905-937-5300 ext. 216 or Mary Ellen at 905-984-5050 ext. 5025.
