The American Heart Association'sSan Antonio Division last month held an educational forum thataddressed Hispanics increased risk for cardiovascular disease and theneed to increase awareness, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
TheState of the Heart community health forum, which was attended by about50 local health professionals, community leaders and representativesfrom several not-for-profit organizations, provided attendees with the2007 Heart Facts guide. According to the guide, cardiovascular diseaseis the leading cause of death for Hispanics, followed by cancer.
