Research has found that older people are having more sex than they were thought and that they really enjoy their sexual lives.

A team of researchers from University of Gothenburg in Sweden questioned 1500 people at their ages of 70 during the periods between 1971 and 1972, 1976 and 1977, 1992 and 1993, 2000 and 2001. Sixty eight percent of men questioned in 2001 reported they are having regular sex compared to 52% of men questioned in early 1970s. The number of married women having regular sex rose to 54% from 30%, while the number unmarried women increased to 12% from less than 1%.

Most women reported that they are totally satisfied with their sexual lives and have more orgasms compared to earlier times. However, men reported less sexual satisfaction and more failures. Researchers suggest that it's not because more men are currently not satisfied, but it's because men are now talking about sex more openly than they did before.

Men also reported that the number of sexual problems, such as ejaculation dysfunction and erectile dysfunction has significantly increased among elderly.

Sexual activity among today's elderly is significantly higher than among those who were at their 30s about 30 years ago. Researchers explain that these people were young just in times when the youth were sexually active and open about talking sex. These people are more educated and their approach to sex is more healthy and open, probably this is why they are having sex regularly and are open when talking about their sexual

It is well known that sexual activity and satisfaction from sexual life significantly reduces other physical and psychiatric problems. It is also known that the more sexually active men are the less erectile dysfunctions they experience. For example, those having sex less than once a week double their risk for suffering from erectile problems, compared to those having sex more than once a week.

Everyone having sexual problems is urged to consult a doctor, because this is an important part of healthy living and it should not be ignored. This research shows that older people also need healthy sexual relationships and they should not ignore the problem just because they are old.

A man with ED is probably not going to have sex as often --- and he already has the problem which you attribute to the cause/results !
