Treatment for 7,000 NHS Patients at Monmouthshire's New Dental Practice

A new dental practice offering NHS treatment to 7,000 patients in Monmouthshire was officially opened today, Monday 5th March by the Minister for Health and Social Services, Dr Brian Gibbons.

The Beaufort Dental Practice in Chepstow will be staffed by two dentists and five dental nurses, with a third dentist being recruited shortly.

The Beaufort Dental Practice in Chepstow is the latest in a series of new dental practices in the Monmouthshire area. This is part of an overall increase in dental services in the area. Since the new dental contract was introduced by the Welsh Assembly Government in April last year, resources have been freed up and Monmouthshire Local Health Board has created capacity for an extra 29,000 NHS patients using its commissioning powers under the new dental contract arrangements to deliver services to meet local dental needs.
