Fresh Baked Goods Bring Good Feelings, Smells To Patients
Carts delivering snacks to patients is commonplace in some hospitals. However, at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at the Ohio State University Medical Center, the arrival of the snack cart means much more than candy and pre-packaged food. Patients at The James are treated to something a bit more special -- the wonderful tastes and aroma of fresh-baked cookies, pretzels, and other items.
When The James and the department of nutrition services began exploring the idea of providing snacks for patients, they wanted a different twist. The result was a food cart that offers fresh-baked snacks instead of the standard prepackaged brand items each Wednesday.
