A bipartisan bill designed to expand health care coverage to millions of uninsured Americans while improving quality and efficiency was introduced in the U.S. Senate on May 9, 2006.
Arthur Garson Jr., M.D., Vice President and Dean of the School of Medicine of the University of Virginia and other health policy experts worked closely with senators George Voinovich (R-OH) and Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) on its development.
The bill was unveiled at a press conference in Washington D.C.
