"SCHIP Reauthorization: How Will Low-Income Kids Benefit Under House and Senate Bills?" Urban Institute:The analysis shows that 70% of children who would gain or retain SCHIPcoverage under Senate legislation and 76% of children who would gain orretain coverage under the House version of the bill are in familieswith incomes less than 200% of the federal poverty level. According tothe analysis, few children who would be eligible for SCHIP under bothbills have incomes greater than 300% of the poverty level because fewstates have, or are projected to have, eligibility limits above thatlevel (Urban Institute release, 9/18).
