Suicide Prevention

Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli will announce that May is Mental Health Month in the County with the goal of increasing the community awareness and understanding of mental health issues in our County.

Our community has been, and continues to be, dramatically impacted by the suicides of several youth as well as adults. The Chemung County Department of Mental Hygiene's Subcommittee for Mental Health and the Suicide Prevention Task Force, invites the community to join in the 2nd Annual "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" suicide prevention walk, a community-wide event to support those affected by suicide and to raise money for local suicide prevention projects.
