Smoke Free Northern Ireland - 50 Days And Counting!

It is now only 50 days until Northern Ireland goes smoke-free.


The legislation will come into effect on 30 April 2007 and will mean that smoking will no longer be permitted in enclosed and substantially enclosed public places.

Marking the day, the Health Minister Paul Goggins said, "There are now only 50 days to go until people across Northern Ireland can go about their business and leisure activities free from the risk of being exposed to the damaging effects of second hand smoke.

"I am confident that this major public health measure will protect one of the most important aspects of our lives
