"Get Real. Get Tested." campaign comes to Charlotte Feb. 28

"Get Real.Get Tested.", a statewide campaign designed to encourage North Carolinians to get educated about and get tested for HIV and AIDS, will begin airing public service and educational announcements on Charlotte-area TV stations WJZY and WMYT on Feb. 28.

The TV spots give people fast facts about HIV/AIDS and getting tested, and a new toll-free phone number, 1-888-HIV4REAL.

An estimated 29,500 North Carolinians are infected with HIV. Many of those don't know that they are infected. The North Carolina Division of Public Health and FOX 50 (WRAZ/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc.) have partnered to create this campaign in response to the rising number of HIV cases being reported in North Carolina
