Dog Bites and Child Safety

In 2005, 12 children required treatment for dog bites at the John Hunter Children's Hospital, highlighting a need for children to be taught how to behave safely around dogs.


Children 0-9 years of age have the highest rates of dog-related injuries, predominantly open wounds to the head.
