Arkansas Babies To Be Screened For Life-threatening Genetic And Functional Disorders

Arkansas Department of Health has a firm plan to implement newborn screening for all 29 core conditions recommended by the March of Dimes by July 2008.


At present, 13 states and the District of Columbia require screening for the 29 core, treatable, conditions.

Nearly 90 percent of all babies born in the United States
