Child Car Seat Check

Victoria Day Weekend marks one of the busiest travel times of the year, so before you hit the road, have your child's car seat checked.

A FREE child car seat check clinic will be held Wednesday, May 16 from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Wyoming Fire Hall 530 Main St., Wyoming as part of the Road Safety Challenge and National Road Safety Week.

"Injuries and death among children are greatly reduced when car seats are used, but in order to protect children, the car seat must be installed properly," says Paul Saunders, Health Promotion Officer with the County of Lambton Community Health Services Department. "If you're not sure if your child's car seat is installed correctly, stop by the clinic. Trained technicians will make adjustments and answer questions."

When used correctly, child car seats reduce the risk of injury by 75%.

The event is sponsored by the Community Health Services Department, Lambton OPP, Sarnia Police Services, Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services, Wyoming Fire Department and the Ministry of Transportation.
