Children With Outdated Vaccinations

A total of 1608 Lambton County students (1177 Elementary and 431 Secondary) face suspension as early as May 31, 2007 because of outdated immunizations.

According to the Immunization of School Pupils Act, 1990, enforced by the County of Lambton Community Health Services Department, all students must be fully immunized to attend school in Ontario.


Students/Parents who have not provided the required information will have until May 30, 2007 to notify the Community Health Services Department with either proof of immunization or a medical or religious/philosophical exemption.

Suspension notices have been sent this week to parents/students who have not responded to an earlier immunization questionnaire. The Community Health Services Department does not automatically receive immunization records from family physicians so parents must report the required immunization update once they are received.
