Reduce the Anxiety of a Hospital Stay at Lutheran Children's Hospital

Hospitalization can be unnerving enough when you are an adult, but image how scary it must be for a young child like four-year-old Jenna Snyder of Lake Zurich, who has been hospitalized at Lutheran General Hospital three times since diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in January. Luckily, Child Life Specialists are available to make a child's hospitalization experience as positive as possible.

Sitting up in her crib, singing along with Elmo on the TV, except for the IV in her foot and the missing hair on her head you wouldn't know Jenna was sick at all.

As part of Advocate Lutheran General Children's Hospital healthcare team, the Child Life Department helps children "be kids" while they are in the hospital.
