The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment has been doing investigation and follow-up of the death of a 20-year-old female college student who died of meningococcal disease at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.

Meningococcal disease is a severe infection caused by bacteria called meningococci, also known as Neisseria menigitidis.
