UK Minister Announces Future Direction of Renal Services in Wales

World Kidney Day was marked by an announcement on the future direction of renal services in Wales by the Minister for Health and Social Services, Dr Brian Gibbons.


Dr Gibbons said: "I welcome the opportunity on World Kidney Day to help raise awareness of renal disease in Wales. I would like to take the opportunity to highlight the Assembly Government's commitment to improve healthcare services for adults and children with or at risk of renal disease."

Later this month the Policy statement and National Service Framework, Designed to Tackle Renal Disease in Wales will be published.

About 10,000 people in Wales have renal disease and it affects all ages.
