Heat Alert Issued For Sarnia-Lambton

A HEAT ALERT has been issued for Sarnia-Lambton by the Medical Officer of Health for Lambton County based on the latest Environment Canada. The alert is due to a combination of high heat and high humidity (greater than 40oC) that can be hazardous to your health.

Dr. Chris Greensmith, (A) Medical Officer of Health for Lambton County, says "Extreme heat can affect health in a number of ways and puts physical distress on everyone. The homeless, seniors, young children, those with chronic health conditions, those who are active or work in hot environments and those without air conditioning are at greatest risk and should take precautions."

County of Lambton Community Health Services Department advises local agencies and organizations that work with high-risk people to recognize the risks and advise their clients to take precautions.

The Lambton Community Health Services Department will issue a Heat Alert when one or more of the following is met:
