With warmer weather arriving, Albertans reminded to take precautions against three potential health threats - hantavirus, E. Coli and rabies.
Protect yourself against hantavirus

Hantavirus is a potentially fatal infection acquired from contact with mouse droppings or urine. Albertans are advised to take special care when spring cleaning, working or playing in locations where rodents may reside. While deer mice are the species most likely to carry the hantavirus, all signs of rodent infestation should be treated with caution. Infected mice are found in all regions of Alberta.
