Florence Water - PCE level

Armen Hareyan's picture

Levels of tetrachloroethylene, also known as PCE, "perc" or perchloroethylene, which is commonly used as a dry cleaner solvent, have been detected in some private wells and in a few locations near a dry cleaning establishment on S. Cashua Drive in Florence. Samples taken 2/2/07 detected PCE and have been sent to the Department of Health and Environmental Control's lab for testing. The level and extent of contamination is undetermined at this time, but it is believed to be limited to the immediate area surrounding the site.
