ABC's "World News"on Monday included the first in a series of reports on health care inthe 2008 presidential election. The segment included a discussion withDrew Altman, president and CEO of the Kaiser Family Foundation; Karen Davis, president of the Commonwealth Fund; and Gail Wilensky, a senior fellow at Project HOPE.


Thepanelists discussed whether universal health care is attainable; therole of government in achieving universal coverage; funding for healthcoverage and whether health care reform would require higher taxes;rising health care costs and the impact on the middle class; and howRepublicans and Democrats are approaching health care reform.

OnTuesday, "World News" will include a report on the differences betweenRepublican and Democratic candidates' approaches to health care(Gibson, "World News," ABC, 12/10).
