Littleton Radiation Oncology Offers BSD Medical's Hyperthermia Therapy
Littleton Radiation Oncology has joined BSD Medical's group of customers, with their acquisition and installation of a BSD-500 Hyperthermia System in their Littleton facility.
Littleton is a suburb of Denver. This new system will increase their ability to treat cancer patients at their facility.
"With a large and long time patient experience using hyperthermia therapy in treating cancer patients, it is a great pleasure to bring this highly effective, proven technology to this region of the country," said David P. Schreiber, MD, CEO at Littleton Radiation Oncology.
"We are pleased to welcome Littleton Radiation Oncology as a new proponent of hyperthermia therapy for cancer," said Hyrum A. Mead, president of BSD Medical Corp. "Dr. David Schreiber has published a number of articles on the benefits of hyperthermia in the treatment of cancer and brings years of experience in using this therapy. We are pleased to offer the benefits of hyperthermia therapy to his patients with the BSD-500."
BSD Medical Corp. is the leading developer of systems used to deliver hyperthermia therapy for the treatment of cancer. Hyperthermia therapy is used to kill cancer directly and increase the effectiveness of companion radiation treatments for certain tumors. Research has also shown promising results from the use of hyperthermia therapy in combination with some chemotherapy agents as well as tumor reduction prior to surgery.
