Heartland Center Seeks Proposals For Pilot Research Projects

The Heartland Center for Occupational Health and Safety at the University of Iowa is accepting research proposals for pilot project funding from doctoral and postdoctoral trainees, occupational medicine residents, junior faculty and faculty new to the field of occupational health and safety.

The submission deadline for research proposals is Monday, April 2. Awards will be announced June 1, with funding starting July 1.

Projects should also be associated with one of the eight sectors listed. Student proposals must have a faculty sponsor who will oversee the research.

Pilot project funds will be awarded on a competitive basis. The maximum amount of funding is $15,000 for the period July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008.

The Heartland Center is a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center that provides graduate training, continuing education and outreach in occupational health and safety.
