Walking and biking to school has decreased steadily since 1969.

Not only is it decreasing in the U.S., only 32 percent of Georgia's middle school and high school students who live one mile or less from school walk to school. Traffic and safety are the most common barriers to walking or biking to school. Analysis performed for the study concludes
