Swine Flu Results Negative At Dauphin County Prison
Dauphin County officials announced that test results for two county prisoners with elevated temperatures have come back negative for the H1N1 virus, or swine flu.
In addition, no other prisoners have exhibited symptoms of the swine flu since two prisoners became ill last Tuesday night, and two more became ill the following day.
“Everyone we are monitoring has had normal vital signs and has been symptom-free since last Wednesday, except one other patient found to have a low-grade fever and symptoms on Friday,” Warden Dominick DeRose said.
The Prison took numerous precautions to avoid the spread of illness, including restricting movement among cells, following universal precautions for hand-washing and cleaning, and separating ill prisoners from the general population.
