Nebraska Confirmed 11 Cases Of H1N1 Flu

Since last Friday’s news release (6-5-09), 11 cases of confirmed novel influenza A (H1N1) have been reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. That brings the total confirmed cases of Nebraska residents to 71. Six probable cases are pending confirmation at the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory.

"The World Health Organization yesterday raised the level of alert to indicate that the virus has achieved worldwide spread," said Dr. Joann Schaefer, Chief Medical Officer. “Nebraska will continue to conduct surveillance and to plan for the eventuality that vaccine becomes available.”
