Watch For Candy Containing Melamine Or Lead

The Department of Human Resources, Division of Public Health is asking parents to ensure that children do not have any White Rabbit Creamy Candies or Koala’s brand candies that have been recalled for melamine contamination.

The Department of Agriculture has found samples of the candy with significant amounts of melamine. Parents also need to be cautious of candy imported from Mexico, especially candies with tamarind, which may have excess amounts of lead.

Below is a list of known candies found to contain melamine:

* White Rabbit Creamy Candies 8 oz.

* White Rabbit Creamy Candies 16 oz.

* Koala’s March King Size Chocolate 1.8 oz.

* Koala’s March King Size White Chocolate 1.8 oz.

* Koala’s March Family Pack Chocolate 9.5 oz.

* Koala’s March Family Pack Strawberry 9.5 oz.

* Koala’s March Family Pack White Chocolate 9.5 oz.

* Koala’s March Family Pack Chestnut 9.5 oz.

* Koala’s March Family Hawaii Chocolate 9.5 oz.

* Koala’s March Family Hawaii Pineapple 9.5 oz.
