Top 10 Best Natural Skin Care Brands and Products for Summer Beauty
What woman doesn’t want a bronzed, beachy, sun-kissed glow for summertime? There is a way to achieve this look using the best natural skin care brands and products without sacrificing your health by slathering yourself in toxic chemicals. In this article, we are going to explore a number of brands that fit these criteria, and I’m going to share my favorite products with you!
What Does All-Natural Mean Exactly?
I just want to take a moment to clarify something. If a cosmetic product claims it is all-natural, the company may not define this the way that you might think. Carmine, for example, is an “all-natural” red dye made from crushing beetles. This ingredient may not be fatal, but it certainly isn’t pleasant. Don’t ever purchase a product without scanning the ingredients even if it says all-natural. Common sense is still relevant especially when it comes to the products we put on our skin. If you’re wary of an ingredient and you don’t know what it means, please look it up on EWG’s trustworthy, scientifically-backed database. I personally like to steer clear of synthetic ingredients and opt for ingredients straight from nature whenever possible!
1. Lip Crayon
When I want to look completely bare-faced while accentuating my natural lip shade, I reach for one of my Phyto-Pigments Luminous Lip Crayons from Juice Beauty. The ingredients are organic. They are so pretty, and I love the fact that their phytopigments are derived 100% from plants and fruits!
The best mineral-based mascara I have discovered thus far has been the Lengthening Mascara from Mineral Fusion. I love the brush because it really elongates the lashes, and it does layer well if you like to apply several coats. One tube lasts me a long time! My favorite shade is graphite. Mineral Fusion also has a waterproof mascara available.
I love the Illuminating Powder from Mineral Fusion to achieve that dewy summer glow. It comes in a convenient compact with a mirror. I’ve used it as a highlighter, blush, eyeshadow, and contour. The four shimmery shades are pink, gold, brown, and white.
I don’t always wear nude lipstick shades, but my favorite one for summertime is the hue Crush by Mineral Fusion. It is very flattering! I have enjoyed several lipstick shades from Mineral Fusion, and I also like their Sheer Moisture Lip Tint crayons too.
At the conclusion of long Maine winters, my skin is dry and pasty white. I discovered this self-tanner from Beauty By Earth with 100% organic ingredients, and I’ve been very impressed with its performance. The formula is buildable which I prefer because I would rather apply the self-tanner several times and achieve an even tan opposed to a patchy, orange look. Go lightly on angular areas like your knee caps and elbows. The self-tanner tends to accumulate in these areas. To exfoliate my skin prior to applying it, I used a dry brushing brush that I bought on Amazon.
Badger Healthy Body Care is a great company, and they are certified organic. They have several varieties of sunscreen with varying levels of SPF coverage, and this is the first natural brand I’ve discovered that actually works for me personally.
7. Lip Balm
Badger Healthy Body Care also has a great lip balm I use frequently to keep my lips moisturized in the humidity of summer. I like to keep several on hand at all times.
I love the moisturizer from the Honest Company for a multitude of reasons. This tube is a really affordable option, and it lasts a very long time. It isn’t greasy, it doubles as a great makeup remover, and it absorbs into the skin really well. I also love the fact that there is an unscented version because I don’t use scented lotions or moisturizers.
I tend to prefer stick concealers to liquid concealers. I’ve been using the Revlon PhotoReady concealer, and there are a variety of shades available. If you are into contouring, I think selecting a very light shade and then a medium shade would perform very well. The smaller tubes have a pointed bullet similar to a lipstick that would work well for that purpose. I prefer the larger sticks because they last longer plus they're more economical.
I have fair skin, but ironically enough I do tend to tan well in the summer sun. I prefer a natural look in the summer, and the 100% Natural Origin 2-in-1 Bronzer and Blush from Physician’s Formula is subtle and pretty at the same time. I dust the bronzer shade using a shader brush from Eco Tools in the hollows of my cheekbones for a very natural contour.

What’s the Scoop on Hyaluronic Acid?
If you frequently research beauty products like me, you will have noticed a growing trend in skincare products that utilize an ingredient called hyaluronic acid. Out of curiosity, I conducted an EWG search on hyaluronic acid. It scored a 1 in their database which translates as a very low hazard ingredient. That is good news for Juvederm customers because Juvederm uses hyaluronic acid as a filler in their lip injections. Unlike other lip injections, the Juvederm treatment is 100% reversible if the desired look isn’t achieved.
In conclusion, it may take a little research to find the best natural skincare brands and products, but you are certainly worth it. Your body will thank you this summer when you feel beautiful from the inside out!
