When it's time to take a break from the heat, hand your kids this sweet frozen treat and watch their smiles turn into delightfully-messy chocolate smiles. This homemade fudgesickles recipe with coconut milk is both gluten-free and dairy-free.


Fudgesicle recipe is also super simple to make with just three ingredients in your blender: coconut milk, cocoa powder and the sweetener of your choice. You can also substitute the coconut milk for almond milk with equally satisfying results.

It's also interesting to note, when purchasing coconut milk, that sometimes sugar, or a sugar derivative, is listed as an ingredient on some cans. Choose wisely and remember, sugar goes by many other names.

  • I (400 ml) can coconut milk (2 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (or agave or maple syrup)

Optional ingredients

1/3 to 1/2 cup frozen or fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, cherries or bananas - or a combination of any)

Simply place all of ingredients into a blender and blend well for at least 1 minute. Then pour into molds and let it freeze for 8 hours or overnight.

A really great optional addition to these homemade fudgesickles is real fruit. The taste will be even sweeter with the addition of the berries while bananas give the fudgesickles a whole new great taste.
