Superfoods are a quick and easy way to get some serious nutrients into your body, superfoods are great for your body. They are filled with many nutrients that our bodies crave but don’t always receive.
A fruit smoothie is a delicious and healthy way to start your day.
Or a great nutritious afternoon snack.
Adding superfoods is a great way make a fruit smoothie even better.
What is a super food?
Superfoods such as spinach, beans, sweet potatoes, salmon, fruits, nuts, whole grains and berries — are said to be rich in nutrients.
Some superfoods are better than others to add to a smoothie.
Here are some of my favorite smoothie superfoods.
Thick and creamy and high in protein & probiotics.
Filled with fiber, vitamin C.
Kale (just a little it has a strong taste)
Lots of antioxidantst's also a fantastic source of fiber, calcium, and iron.
Loaded with the most essential fatty acids of any known plant! Plus, one serving of the stuff is loaded with magnesium, iron, calcium, and potassium.
High in fiber, antioxidants, and tons of other nutrients.
Vitamin C is the superstar of this superfood. Just one cup satisfies the daily requirement for vitamin C
Low in sugar and high in vitamins A and C, this summer treat is the prefect addition to a superfood smoothie
Just one cup of the stuff packs up to 12 percent of the recommended daily dose of calcium and enough vitamin K to help prevent bone loss .
Slightly spicy but so tasty
Loaded with antioxidants and vitamins
and my favorite for flavor for autumn.
With lots of fiber apples are a great low-calorie source. (A medium-sized apple weighs in at under 100 calories.)
Cranberries (another of my favorites)
You can feeeze these fall favorites and use them year-round.
Contain large amounts of vitamin A.
There are more superfoods like blackberries, raspberries, papaya, pineapple, Coconut oil, avocadodark chocolate, spirulina, orange, mango, kiwi, pomegranate seeds, bananas and more.
So many healthy option.
I like to full my Vita Mix with fruits with a big handful of spinach, than add almond milk and Greek yogurt.
I don't usually add anything to sweeten if but if I over do the Kale or spinach I sometimes add a little local honey
Blend it all up with some ice and I have a healthy superfood smoothie that my entire family will enjoy.
Freeze it in silicone molds and make superfood popsicles for your kids.
