Benefits of Turmeric
Turmeric contains several medicinal compounds, the most important of which is curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compound. Turmeric Latte Recipe
1 tsp coconut oil
½ tsp ground turmeric
½ TBS ground ginger
dash of black pepper
1 cup milk (or substitute your non-dairy milk of choice)
½ tsp vanilla extract
maple syrup, honey, stevia, or other natural sweetener to taste
1. Melt coconut oil in small saucepan over medium high heat. Whisk in turmeric, ginger, and black pepper, 30 seconds or until fragrant.
2. Slowly whisk in milk, vanilla, and sweetener of choice.
3. Cook over medium high heat, whisking vigorously until milk begins to foam. Do not allow mixture to come to a full boil. When thickness is to your liking, remove from heat and pour into your favorite mug.
