Donald Trump, U.S. presidential candidate, recently revealed his routine diet – and it's junk food-heavy. Even if you support Trump's political goals, you should obviously veer away from his diet plan. But, if you're a staunch Trump fan, here are some ways you can try his diet and stay somewhat healthy.

In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Trump revealed he frequently enjoys a diet of McDonald's Big Macs and KFC chicken.

His diet may have caused the massive heart attack he had last year on his way to a Florida campaign.

Needless to say, it's unhealthy to copy his diet. But, if you'd still like to eat like our presidential candidate, here are some ways you can make the diet healthy:

1. Do Small Portions

You can definitely lose weight eating junk food. In fact, a Kansas State University Human Nutrition Professor Dr. Mark Haub wanted to prove it to the world by going on a 10-week convenience store diet. For those 10 weeks he hate only Hostess, Little Debbie, Doritos, Oreos, and cereals.

Guess what? He lost 27 pounds. How? He made sure to take in only 1,800 calories each day. He ate below what someone his size and weight would've eaten, which led to weight loss.

His calorie limitation also protected his cholesterol levels and kept other biomarkers for disease low. In fact, his bad cholesterol levels dropped by 20 percent while his good cholesterol levels rose by 20 percent.

You can do the same on Trump's diet – eat junk, but eat less of it and you'll stay somewhat healthy.

2. Eat the Meat, Leave the Carbs

You can enjoy your Big Mac, just don't eat the bun or the fries. If you're having KFC, have the chicken and nothing else. This makes your diet high-protein and low-carb, which is the premise to the Atkins Diet.

The Atkins Diet allows you to eat fat and protein, but not carbs. You can eat anything you want as long as you don't go over your calorie limits and you pinch the carbs. It works – Kim Kardashian lost her pregnancy weight by sticking to the diet.

The famous Marilyn Monroe also stuck to a similar diet. Despite being ranked at the top of the world's most beautiful women, she openly said she often eats broiled steak and lamb chops for dinner.

Stick to a Happy Meal without fries and you can lose weight on Trump's diet.

3. Take Natural Antioxidant Supplements

McDonald's, KFC, and other fast food places offer food with preservatives and GMOs. These have been found to make you gain weight.

Antioxidants help your body flush these toxins out. For example, selenium supplements combat mercury poisoning.

You can lessen the weight-gaining effects of the toxins in these junk foods by popping a couple of Brazil nuts or taking a zeaxanthin supplement after your meal.
