He “changed my life and the lives of everyone he met,” is how Heidi Montag, a reality star, is quoted as remembering Dr. Frank Ryan, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who died today after a car crash. Dr. Ryan, who performed ten plastic surgeries on Heidi Montag in one day, was 50 years old.

According to police, Dr. Ryan’s jeep tipped over the side of Pacific Coast Highway at about 4:30 pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Ryan’s dog was in the jeep at the time of the accident and was taken to an area veterinarian for treatment.

Dr. Ryan hit the headlines in January 2010 when it was announced he had performed ten plastic surgery procedures in one day in November on Heidi Montag. Ms. Montag had a mini brow lift, Botox in her brow and frown line area, a revised nose job, fat injections in her cheeks and nasolabial folds and lips, a chin reduction, neck liposuction, her ears pinned back, breast augmentation, a buttock augmentation, and liposuction on her waist, hips, and inner and outer thighs.

Earlier this year, Heidi Montag admitted in an interview with People magazine that she was addicted to plastic surgery. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, more than 10 million surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures were done in the United States in 2008. Among the most popular are those Heidi had performed, including breast augmentation, liposuction, and rhinoplasty (nose job).

Dr. Ryan, who spent his post-graduate years in surgical training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the University of Missouri, and UCLA Medical Center, was plastic surgeon to other stars along with Heidi, including Gene Simmons, Vince Neil, and Playmate Shauna Sand.

Today Dr. Ryan is being mourned by Heidi Montag and a host of others who called him a friend and a famous plastic surgeon. Condolences to his mother, family, and friends.
