Have you considered using HCG to lose weight and stay in shape?

Fad diets come and go almost as quickly as the seasons change. Those that work stay for decades, but sometimes it is hard to distinguish between the weight loss techniques that work, and the ones that waste your time or money. The use of HCG injections in weight loss programs is a method that is still debated. Is it really worth the investment?

In some cases, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) injections can help with weight loss. Using HCG to shed extra pounds is not a novel idea and has been around for almost a century. It was discovered in the 1920s but was not widely used for weight loss until the 1950s when studies showed its potential for burning fat in combination with a low-calorie diet. For more than 65 years, people have been using HCG to lose weight.

HCG injections that are combined with a low-calorie diet may help you create a healthier lifestyle. However, before you talk to your doctor about this hormone, you should learn more about HCG, and how it can affect weight loss.

The HCG hormone

HCG is a hormone that is used to support and aid the reproductive systems of both men and women. It is made of amino acids that are more common in women than men. In women, high levels of the HCG hormone are used to detect pregnancy. Men produce very low levels of the hormone. It is used primarily to promote fertility and weight loss. However, it can be used in steroids and other performance enhancing drugs.

HCG and weight loss

Studies have shown that injections of HCG have the power to eliminate fat cells when used in combination with a calorie-restricted diet. It helps to promote lean muscle that burns fat without depriving cells of nutrition and curbs your appetite.

Injections are more efficient when used in combination with a diet of about 800 calories per day. Although the dietary standard is 1,200 calories a day, some people are able to handle lower amounts. You must speak with your doctor before starting a low-calorie diet and discuss your health. The diet focuses on high volumes of fruits and vegetables, but carbohydrates are limited. Although it is close to a vegetarian diet, participants can get the nutrients and vitamins they need without extra calories.

The pros and cons of using HCG

Similar to other diets, there are positive and negative aspects to it, so you must consider all of them. It is highly recommended that you speak to a doctor and a dietician before you begin a new diet. You also want to check with your pharmacist because your medications can also affect your diet.

Pro: It can help your metabolism, so you burn calories faster. This is a perk that tends to last after you stop doing the injections.

Con: Although many people can use HCG without any problems, some experience side effects that include acne, breast tenderness, menstrual irregularities, headaches, lightheadedness, water retention, bloating and irritability.

Pro: HCG curbs your appetite, so you resist cravings and maintain a healthy diet. You will see rapid weight loss results and may lose as much as 3 pounds per day while on the program.

Con: It can be dangerous to get an injection without a doctor overseeing the process. You must follow this diet under the guidance of a healthcare professional.

The success of HCG

One woman who found success with HCG injections reported to Fox News, "The other day I was at Fleet Farm and I bought a bag of 50-pound solar salt to put in our softener. I picked that up and I was like this is what I had on my body that I just lost. That was heavy. And I was carrying that around constantly, everyday it was on my knees, on my body. To have that off of me and to lose maybe another one of those bags — it would be incredible.”

If you are considering the HCG diet to lose weight, then your first step should be to talk to a doctor. This diet has helped many people shed extra pounds, so the potential to eliminate your weight battle exists.
