You can find gluten-free pancakes that are safe for celiac disease at a select number of restaurants around the country. Your GF breakfast options do not have to be limited to coffee.

You have a craving for warm, fluffy pancakes that must be gluten-free and cannot cook at home or are traveling. You know that IHOP does not have any GF (gluten-free) options that are safe for celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Where can you go to order delicious pancakes?

Where to find gluten-free pancakes safe for celiac disease

You do not have to stop eating pancakes because of celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Instead, you simply have to find the right locations that sell safe GF versions. You can add more variety to your breakfasts and go beyond the usual gluten-free cereals.

1. Original Pancake House

The Original Pancake House has a separate gluten-free menu, but it is not available at all locations. In addition, you have to request that your pancakes are gluten-free and make sure to ask about cross-contamination in the kitchen. Some locations have a separate gluten-free griddle, so they understand the requirements for celiac disease.

However, the GF pancakes are delicious and served on plates with a different color. If you see your pancake is on the same plate as the flour versions, then you must check to make sure the kitchen followed your request. The Original Pancake House uses Pamela’s Mix to make their gluten-free pancakes, so you can buy the mix and make the same ones at home.

2. Silver Diner

If you are on the East Coast, then you may want to visit the Silver Diner for gluten-free pancakes. Although they only have one option for GF pancakes on their gluten-free menu, the quinoa coconut pancakes are delicious. They are gluten-free and vegetarian. In addition, you can ask for agave, blueberries, strawberries and cinnamon sour cream, pecans and grilled bananas as the topping.

You still want to make sure the staff is aware that you have celiac disease or gluten intolerance, so they can verify if they use separate equipment and utensils to prepare your gluten-free pancakes. However, diners have shared positive reviews about the GF menu at these restaurants.

3. Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

If you are fortunate to live in Colorado, California, Arizona or Texas, then you may want to try Snooze, an A.M. Eatery to get your breakfast pancakes. This small chain of restaurants is aware of the diet requirements for celiac disease and gluten intolerance, so they have created their own gluten-free pancake batter recipe.

There is no special menu, and you simply have to request the GF pancakes from the staff. All staff members are trained to understand your gluten-free needs. You can customize anything on the menu and mix or match different items.
