Animal Control Shelter In Tahoe Prepares For Remodel Project

The El Dorado County Animal Control shelter in South Lake Tahoe is gearing up to begin its much-anticipated remodeling and expansion project.

Construction on the shelter building is expected to begin toward the end of May. During the remodeling, Animal Control will conduct its operations from two temporary modular buildings located on the shelter property at 1120 Shakori Drive in South Lake Tahoe. "We are thrilled to begin this renovation project," said Lt. Robert Gerat, Supervising Animal Control Officer. "The current Animal Control facility is very old and in great need of upgrades and repair to adequately serve the public and support recognized standards of care for animals."
