Free Stroke Screening Ocean County Health Department Could Be A Lifesaver
County residents are encouraged to find out if they are at risk of a stroke by registering for a free screening and assessment by the Ocean County Health Department.
"May is Stroke Awareness Month," said Public Health Coordinator Ella Boyd, VMD. "As part of our public health outreach for the month, the department will be sponsoring a series of free stroke screening and assessment clinics beginning May 11, 2007 at the main Health Department Building, 175 Sunset Avenue, Toms River."
Dr. Boyd said the May 11 stroke screenings will be held by appointment only, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments may be made by calling 732-341-9700, ext. 7630, or 800-342-9738, ext. 7630."
The screening and assessment takes about 90 minutes.
