Headaches and Blood Pressure Lowering Drugs

Blood pressure lowering drugs can also prevent many headaches, according to a meta-analysis reported in Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association.


The meta-analysis, a statistical pooling of results from trials of similar design that ask the same question, found that one-third fewer people reported headaches while taking blood-pressure-lowering drugs than did people taking a placebo.

"Blood pressure lowering drugs are prescribed to reduce blood pressure and a person's risk of having a stroke or heart attack.
