AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour Rolls into Arkansas


The AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour rolled into Arkansas as part of the State Fair events. The Arkansas State Fair ends today, but the Wellness Tour will be staying for another week. The visit to Arkansas is part of the nationwide tour.

According to the Walgreens website, the tour is scheduled to travel 240,000 miles across 45 states, and visit more than 2,000 communities. They have nine customized buses with Walgreens trained technicians traveling to help you.

The AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour features free health screening and health education. The $140 worth of screenings is done for free. No appointment is necessary.

The free screenings take approximately 20 minutes and include total cholesterol levels, blood pressure, bone density, glucose levels, waist circumference, and body mass index.

You have to be 18 and older to get a free health screening. The bus is equipped with health education information. An added bonus is a free one-year AARP membership even if you're a current member just for participating.
