Unbelievable Level of Compassion When Baby Elephant Falls in Pool
The family of a baby elephant rushes to unbelievable rescue when a baby elephant falls in pool in Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea.
When I saw this video the first thing I thought was, shouldn't humans be at least as compassionate as the elephants? Shouldn't our compassion be more than that of these elephants?
A video, which surfaced few days ago from the Grand Park Zoo in Soul, South Korea, shows two adults elephants rescuing a baby elephant calf from drowning, when the latter falls in a swimming pool.
We see how quickly the elephant calf was helped by an adult elephant who began to panic. Then another elder elephant rushes to help. It seems to me that one of them is the father of the elephant calf and the other is the mother. For some reason it seems to me that the adult elephant who is on the other side of the pool is the father. He acts fatherly.
Whilst the calf was struggling to keep its trunk above the water, as a team the parent elephants joined together to help the baby. The they push the elephant calf toward the shadow end of the pool. Their quick thinking and selflessness saved the baby elephant's life who fell in the pool.
Also not the other adult elephant in the background, in the other side of the fence. Notice how that elephant is running from one side of the fence to the other side, trying to come to rescue and visibly not at peace. That one is erratically pacing back and forth, trying to come to help.
What a high level of compassion. Why are these compassionate loving creatures locked in such a small confinement? Look at the elephant in the background having a nervous breakdown.
How can people hunt these animals for sport, money and fun? Every time I see something like this I can't help feeling that this world would be a much better place if humans practiced at least half of the compassion and love that these animals show toward their neighbor. I also think that if this was a human and other humans around, some of them would have stood videoing it. How often we see that kind of ignorance shown on TV or YouTube.
This video teaches us a great lesson. We, the humans, must learn to love one another in such a compassionate and attentive way. We, the parents, dads and moms, must teach our children and by the example of this baby elephant falling in the pool and being rescued by adults, to love one another and practice this kind of love and compassion toward their neighbors and friends.
