The most important thing I have learned about Keto diet is not worth the crappy way you feel when you cheat. Stick to the plan and it works. Get off course and you suffer for a bit.
I learned that You don't have to eat 3 meals a day. Full fat makes you feel fuller longer!
You can't always look at the big picture. It's important to take baby steps. If you had to eat an entire elephant you would do it one bite at a time so celebrate the little things and love yourself.
Some people said that the most important thing they learned about the Keto Diet is that there is sugar in almost everything we eat. Also, they learned that total strangers can be a great support through Keto Diet online groups and forums, but not all of your family and friends will be.
I learned that when asking any question about food or Keto, to do my own research and find verified sources. Otherwise, (in the world of Facebook geniuses) someone's uncle's cousin's sister's boyfriend told them the opposite and I'm doing it all wrong. And yes, absolutely keep it simple.

The most important thing I have learned about Keto Diet is don't stop and cheat. I have cheated, or worked for a goal then gone carb crazy and getting back into LCHF is so nauseating (literally). I love how I feel when I'm fat adapted, but not how I feel when I'm getting back into it.
The most important thing I learned while on Keto Diet is that carbs are poison. You have to limit protein, eat fat for satiation, and Intermittent fasting cures a lot of pain allowing healing and elimination of inflammation. It's shocking when you start reading labels.
I learned that I was lied to my whole life. I can put butter on my veggies and eat bacon everyday if I want to. Cream in coffee is good. I can eat the skin on my chicken and it's not going to turn me into a blimp.
You don't have to starve yourself to get results. You can eat bacon. When my husband told me about keto diet I was like your going crazy. Now I am crazy, crazy in love with this diet.
I have realized how many carbs I used to eat! Absolutely love this WOE and will never return to my old eating habits. I wish I'd started sooner.
The biggest thing I learned while on a Keto Diet is how to say no. I can be with friends and family and say no to all the high carb food. I enjoy my food more and I eat things I didn't think I would like.
The most important thing I have learned is that Keto Diet is a way of eating and not a diet. I expect to restrict carbs for the rest of my life. Once I hit a healthy weight, I'll add some back in, but I don't ever expect to go back to the way I ate before.
Editor's Note. As you can see there are many interesting responses about what people have learned while on a Keto Diet. What about you? What have you learned while on a particular diet and how has it effected your weight loss?
